A Cambridge University Graduation Photoshoot
Working on Yuri and Alex’s graduation photoshoot was, above all else, a privilege! After all, graduating from medical school at Cambridge is a huge and wonderful achievement and something every student is immensely proud of! Graduation day is a big deal, and the Cambridge Colleges go ‘all-out’ to celebrate the achievements of their students. Sadly for Yuri and Alex, their main graduation ceremony was cancelled at the last minute due to Covid-19 restrictions. Yuri’s parents had been due to attend from Singapore but had to cancel their trip too. So instead, the pair decided to book a graduation photoshoot at various locations around the city, to remember their special day and the times they shared in Cambridge together.
The first stop was a famous street in Cambridge – Trinity Lane. Both Yuri and Alex were keen to get shots at this famous landmark.

St John’s College
Next on the schedule was a Trip to St John’s College. Being students at Cambridge meant we were able to access areas of the Colleges for our Graduation photoshoot that visitors are not usually apermitted to enter. Yuri was particularly keen to re-create a photo she’d seen growing up in Singapore with the Bridge of Sighs as a backdrop. As her parents were unable to attend, she knew this was a must-have photo memory. We even managed to take some great photos of them running through the bridge itself!
King’s College Cambridge
The famous King’s College was next on the agenda. During the summer months, a wildflower meadow is planted in front of King’s College chapel, and it made for some wonderful photos! We made sure to get some shots in front of the Senate House too, which is where the usual Cambridge College Graduation ceremonies take place.
From King’s College, we took a slow walk through the city of Cambridge, taking a few shots as we went. Yuri and Alex were eager to head to their Anatomy Lecture Hall on Downing Street. Having spent so many hours studying there, both wanted a shot there to remember their hard work!
